Getting up at 4am…
Working on your laptop
I guess nerds do own the world
But they never conquer it…

School starts tomorrow. I'm not really worried about it.. but maybe I should be.
I get a lot of time to sit at this job, a lot of time to sit, think, and maybe it's
a waste of time. Regardless of how I try I can't seem to use this time very wisely.
Occasionally I can muster up the courage to make a study guide or really put out for
a take-home test, but its nothing compared to the sheer amount of time I spend watching
 TV or merely staring.

What gets you up in the morning? I have said this before. As a matter of fact I know
I have asked myself this question many many times.

Youth is our most precious gift, it's the only thing we CANT have later. Our money,
success and future can all be changed along the way, but there's no buying back youth.

I am terrified of growing old. It's the reason I talk about being a tough karate biker
when I'm older, its me trying to deny that I will get old. That I could grow weak, reliant
 on others.

SO here's a good question. How much is college worth? How many of our friends have we
seen graduate and flounder without a proper career, regardless of talent? We all know
that the normal 4-year degree has become the equivalent of what was the high school
diploma 20 years ago. Our parents value college. That's why were here. They either did
go, and probably reaped the rewards of doing so, or they where like my parents, didn't
go, and probably suffered being held back in life. Either way, they want us to go, to
do better, to do as well, defiantly not to do worse. But it's not all it cracked up to
be is it?

I've worked a lot of jobs, in many cases more than many of your parents. Work is what
makes up most of our life, even if it's being in class. Thing is, I don't like work.
I don't like school much either. I admit sometimes I learn things in school, things
worth knowing, but it's rarely anything I can use in the work world. Face it, even if
I do learn something worth while in school, any decent job will put you through training
to learn it "their way" anyhow. Even if you did need your college learning, I ask you
seniors, how much do you remember from freshmen classes? That's how short term college is.

Do you wake up wanting to go to class; do you ever really want to be at work? How many
of you sit through most of your classes, every morning, year after year, with the soul
mission of getting back to sleep?

We are a tired and bored generation. Tired of jobs that never really satisfy our need
to succeed, or need to conquer. Bored of normal life, bored with just surviving. Bored
with the technological "marvels". We are met with a never-ending list of prerequisites
that we must meet in order to "get by".
Life should be about more than getting by.
Life should be about more than doing other peoples work.
Life should be an adventure, not a waiting period till dying.
It is.
